How to Help ~ Africa 2011
What is Africa 2011?
Each year Mary Whelchel teaches at conferences in Africa sponsored by The Christian Working Woman. African women in Christian leadership positions come to receive:
- Bible teaching
- Training in leadership skills
- Resources they can use in their ministries
- Networking with others in leadership
In July, 2011, the Africa project will focus on women in locations throughout Uganda and Kenya. Mary, along with Traci Mason, will be reaching out to women in ministry there. She will bring Bible teaching and instruction in developing Bible study skills to strengthen the ministries these women are already doing.
There are fun times too, teaching the women how to lead ice-breakers and plan interactive events. They are enthused to receive prizes and work hard to earn rewards.
In recent years, we have worked with committees of African women who prepare for the conferences on site. We fund the conferences, and the attendees contribute as they are able, to defray costs.
How can you help?
Your financial contributions can help cover our ministry expenses:
- Printing and shipping of conference materials
- Funding airline tickets and lodging
- Providing gifts to encourage the African women in ministry.
Your craft skills can be used to prepare gifts we can give to the women.
Your gifts can be used as prizes to encourage the motivated women in the group.
Your prayers can empower our efforts!
